It features mostly independent music that is not distributed on major labels. This is viewed as a plus. However, searching for likable tracks is sometimes a lengthy process. One way around is to use both the eMusic ranking system and the iTunes ranking system in the iTunes store. At any rate, they post new tracks and albums daily that reflect your likings.
